When dark shadows fall around me
When the day turns into night
I am safe within His keeping
For He draws me to His side.

The firm and the true foundation;

trackless as the foaming see,

and I gladly follow Thee.

Though 'tis lone and dark and dreary,
cheerless though my path may be,
if Thy voice I hear...

Go, with faith to conquer trials that appear;
Know that Christ your Savior with His help is
near.
Never give up the battle, dark though it may be;
For your Lord has promised you the victory.
